Preparations for the 2018 season are well underway with training in full swing.
Whilst the season doesn’t kick off until Saturday April 21, with our first match against Macquarie at Lyle Peacock Field, you can see the first of the seasons football from next weekend.
The playing seasons kicks off next weekend, Saturday 24 February 2018 with Lakes participating in the Kurri Nines Tournament. Lakes will play along with West, South, Kurri, Coogee, Mindaribba, North Lakes and Redfern. Lakes will play round matches against Souths, West and Mindaribba with the top 2 teams from Pool A & B playing in semi finals from 5:00PM with the final at 6:30PM. Good luck to all involved.
On 3 March the All Stars Weekend will kick off and three matches will be played. The Allstars Match, Emerging Allstars and Ladies Allstars. Lakes are well represented in all games and congratulations to the following players who have earned a start, Allstars are Dylan Hartin, Matt Craig, Josh Charles, Jacob Gagai, Jamie Ghoulmieh and Cody Robbins. Emerging Allstars are Aaron McGrady, Ben Hibberd, Brad Affleck, Carl Randall, Conner Whittaker, Dylan Morgan, Feleti Mateo, John Toleafoa, Jono Walsh, Ryan Jones and Sam Hibberd. Ladies Allstars include Nat Hilder & Sarah Harris.
When then have our first trial against Cessnock on March 24 and another against Central soon after.
An interesting change to the 2018 season will be Friday night Under 19 Double Headers. Will have four double headers through the season playing Kurri at Cessnock on Friday 4 May, Central at St John Oval on May 25, Kurri at Maitland on 20 July and our only Friday night home game against Central on 10 August.
